Farm Stories

Finally the trees have gone - well mostly, a few are left but the problem ones are out of the ground and out of my life. My god it is going to make my life so much easier.

Ok so I haven't taken those damned trees down yet, it's too big of a job for me to  tackle alone so I found a company that will do it for me but they are fully booked for the next month so at this point I just have to be patient. Anyway tree issues aside I got the second field ready for planting so that is my next week sorted out.

What a difference a few days makes. As quick as the snow came it went and we had a few days of great sunshine - still very cold though. The upside was that I was able to get back to work, the ground was still a little hard but I got the small field turned over re-planted and fertilised. I REALLY need to take down some trees though, I have put it off for too long and every time I do any field work they make it so much more difficult. The plan at the moment is to ready and plant the main field and then spend a couple of weeks clearing trees around the small field.

Ok so maybe not the storm of the century but it definitely did not stop snowing like the forecast said, we had a very heavy few days of snowfall so obviously I have not been able to do anything on the farm.

Another week of mostly not doing anything - not by choice mind - the ground is still too hard to be able to do anything with it. I reckon it will be at least another week before I can get back to doing what I love (and what I want to be doing) - namely farming.

So 2025 is starting with some bad news.

Dear journal - my mind has been blown. Seriously I am all over the place right now.

So things have gotten a little strange this week in town.

So I had the best weekend with Charisma.

Well not hibernating exactly but this last week has been all about closing things up until next year. The new yard is fantastic - everything I wanted it to be and more.

So I really have a lot to be thankful for - I mean WOW.

Dear journal...it REALLY is a wonderful life - I promise I will stop with all the Christmas season stuff soon(ish). But I have had a wonderful week, I really have.

I have been thinking a lot about Naomi and if I did the right thing in setting her lose on Rennie, it didn't help that I ran into her in the dinner this week but she blanked me as she left so that was good. Rennie may suspect that I am behind her renewed interest in him but he will not be able to prove it. Hell she has been after him for years so maybe I am just overreacting - but I have kept my head down and thrown myself into my work all the same.

So I don't know if I am making things better or worse for myself but I had to do something so yeah I took action against Rennie. Lets back up a bit though first.

I have a lot to report this week. I was woken up around 1am Monday morning to the sound a rock being thrown my window, it was wrapped in a sheet of paper with the message Go Home written on it.

So yeah I bought the land, along with a shed and a grain Silo. Once I get the ground laid with gravel I will have $42k left. No panic though - I  have enough to cover any emergencies and I can properly store my equipment so win win.

As the title says I am keeping my head down and keeping busy. Mostly keeping out of Rennies' way although it turns out I'm not the only person in town who doesn't like him - I ran into Katie who works at her families animal dealership and she is not a fan of the Mayor either.

So I have moved - I am still pinching myself that this is happening, I mean six months ago I would've laughed if someone had told me I would be leaving California behind for a new life in Ohio.

I WON - I got the news yesterday that my bid was the winning bid.

It's been a while since my last entry but as you can imagine I have had a lot to deal with. I laid the old man to rest and it was as awkward, sad and unavoidable as I feared it would be.

I didn't expect this to be my second journal entry but the old man passed away.

First off this is not a review of FS25 but rather some thoughts on the game and what I would like to see in future iterations of Farm Sim - I feel that I have spent enough time with the game to be able to share what I think about the latest instalment, particularly as a relative newcomer to the series.

Farm Sim 25 day is fast approaching so I want to take a few moments to give a little outline around my plans for Pops Farm and how it will differ from Silverrun Forest.

So I am having a lot of fun with my Silverrun Forest series and while it will be continuing I will also be doing a FS25 series as well - with that in mind I wanted to just outline how it will work and how the two series will be different from each other.
