Finally the trees have gone - well mostly, a few are left but the problem ones are out of the ground and out of my life. My god it is going to make my life so much easier.
And I managed to wrangle a discount by letting the logging company keep the trees to sell for themselves. Win Win.
Finally
You have no idea what a pain it was trying to manoeuvre around all the trees at the bottom of the field with the combine, the sprayer, the roller etc - seriously it will cut a good bit of time of the whole process so absolutely worth the cost.
Outside of that work has started on Charismas surprise and to that end I have arranged to spend the next few weekends at her place so she wont drive past it and see what is going on.
I also got around to selling of those pieces of machinery that I no longer need and spent a good portion of my week washing everything down and servicing a couple of pieces as well.
Keeping clean
I guess it is true of any business but a farm is only as good as its equipment and I like to take pride in my work as well - something you can only do if you take pride in your equipment.
Other than that I just spent a little time in town, caught up with Chuck and the fellas and met up with Clark for a couple of pints one evening.
Small town living really agrees with me - I honestly could not imagine ever living full time in the big city again.
Until next time...
