Hibernating - Silverrun Forest Episode 24

Published on 8 December 2024 at 12:29

Well not hibernating exactly but this last week has been all about closing things up until next year. The new yard is fantastic - everything I wanted it to be and more.

If this year has been about investing into the farm next year is about making money from it, I have BIG plans for the next couple of years.

Anyway this week has been busy, busy, busy - Obviously I am still on cloud after Charismas visit and she came over for a few days to see the new additions and to help me get everything packed away.

A snowy farm

I appreciate it's probably not very exciting to a lot of people but any farmer worth his (or her) salt knows the importance of a good yard. Chuck bought some of the fellas along to have a peek as well and they gave it the thumbs up - and that is all the encouragement I need.

As we stand I washed everything down gave the tractor a tune up and got everything stored away - just in time as well as you can from the pictures we have snow.

At this point I have more storage space than I need but as I said earlier - plans for expansion so definitely designed it with that in mind.

I also have a fuel tanker, a fertiliser tanker and a silo for crops so I really feel that I am in a great place to head into 2025.

As I am writing this on the 8th December I have a good few weeks now to just relax before next year.

I will need to do some more Christmas gift buying for Charismas and her parents - and I am really looking forward to it - I MIGHT go out of town for a couple days. Watch this space.

The plan now is to relax though - I will play Santa the weekend before Christmas and then head to Goldcrest and probably stay there until the new year.

All in all dear journal I feel blessed and fortunate to be where I am today. Until next time...
