No news on the land purchase yet so I decided why not spend the weekend exploring Silverrun. WOW I am blown away - this place is beautiful, I think I have already fallen in love with it. You have to remember I came her from New Jersey so it is a totally different way of life, so much more relaxed and slower paced and the scenery just takes my breath away. I saw a couple of deer grazing and had to pinch myself - I have never been this close to nature. I can get used to this.
Anyway I took Chucks advice and stopped in at the Waffle Hut and he wasn't kidding it was AMAZING. I am also struck by how friendly everyone is, I have never visited a dinner and had the owner come out of the kitchen to welcome me personally and spend ten minutes chewing the breeze. I love it.

I spent an hour or so wandering around the town centre and found a nice little bookstore that I will definitely be using once I am settled in, there's a coffee shop and a little seafood restaurant on main street. All in all I am impressed. I forgot to mention that I picked up a cheap truck so getting around is much easier at least. I wont deny that I am feeling a bit antsy though - as nice as the town is I want to get busy you know? I hope I will hear some good news this week - as soon as the land sale goes through I can start getting some equipment and start farming.

Another pressing issue is finding a long term housing situation, the hotel is okay but it's not a long term solution. I need to sort the farm out first though - I can't risk running out of money I've got one shot at this and I need to do it right. I am facing the future with optimism though. Silverrun feels like home, I've been here a little over a week and I can already say that. Here's hoping that I have some good news to share next time...
