The paperwork for the field went through so it is now officially mine and I am told the other plot will be mine in the next few days.
WOW
Just WOW
I am still pinching myself (and yes Charisma squealed down. Again)
But now is the time to get to work - I want a harvest in as soon as possible so I am getting income from both fields and I am itching to get to work anyway, as much as I appreciate a little down time it is also good to be out there doing and earning - am I right?
so is pent some more of that government money on a stone picker. Yeah I know not the most exciting purchase but by god that field has some stones in it. Honestly I don't think I have ever seen a field with as many stones as this one so they need to go if I want to maximize my yield.
Ready to collect some stones
It was a bitch of a job for sure - the field is an irregular shape and I really could do with a bit more horse power out of the tractor - and yeah why didn't I just buy a more powerful tractor you (I) ask?.
Well as much money as I got tractors are expensive if you want a high end one and with the plans I have for the other plot of land it just wasn't feasible. I figure I will make this tractor last for two or three harvests and then I should be able to consider a new purchase.
The canola is coming along nicely and I am thinking of planting wheat in this field so I am not overloading on one crop. When I see what the canola returns I will make a decision about where I want to go with my crops in the future of course and I would like to branch out perhaps into root vegetables and maybe even get some chickens as well.
Future plans though for now I am just happy to have two fields up and running.
Until next time...
