Feeling Festive - Silverrun Forest Episode 21

Published on 17 November 2024 at 08:52

Turns out that Silverrun really do go all out for Christmas. The town transformed literally overnight - and keep in mind we are only in November, I always thought it was just the big cities that decorated this early but apparently not.

I popped into town to grab a new book and Maggie tells me that Christmas is definitely a big deal in Silverrun especially as they don't celebrate Halloween.

Maggie

Anyway it has got me feeling very festive and really looking forward to Christmas even if I will be spending it alone. Again. But it is what you make of it right? I will get involved with the towns celebrations for sure.

Back to farm matters I got all the crops in - it has been a crazy tough week - I am wondering if I should look to hire some (semi) regular help next year and GODAMN if it hasn't gotten colder.

I mean REALLY, REALLY cold.

I tell you what dear journal nothing wakes you up like an arctic blast at 6am when you are in a tractor with minimal heating working the fields.

But at least I can sit back now until next year. The yard is really coming along and looks like it might be ready in the next week or so - the crew have done a great job and I have several additions to the farm arriving very soon as well. I will do a little tour once everything is in place - I don't know why I always just assume someone, anyone, will be reading all this in the future but...hey ho.

Other than that once the yard is ready I will pack the farm up until next year - the machinery all needs cleaning and the tractor could do with a tune up. Fingers crossed I can get everything put to bed in the first week or two of December and then enjoy a festive break.

I might even do a little Christmas shopping for Chuck and the boys...
