Have you ever visited a place and instantly fell in love with it?
Well Riverbend Springs did it for me - seriously the town is CHARMING. I am probably crazy buy I put in an offer on a plot of land already so there's no going back. If I get it...
Turns out I wasn't the only interested party so it's a sealed bid deal - I have bid more than it is worth but I want it.
I REALLY want it.
I will know one way or another next week so I don't want to tempt fate by packing everything up just yet. The waiting is driving me mad though.
What a view
One of two ferries that cross the river
An old time steamer restaurant
As for the town itself?
Well it sits on banks oh the Muskingum River that cuts Riverbend in two and farming is definitely the main industry in town. It falls under Hocking County and is surrounded by the foothills of the Appalachian Plateau and if I get the land there is plenty of room for expansion in the future.
The people I met seemed friendly enough so that is always a bonus.
All in all I am very hopeful that I will be making a move to Ohio - probably early next year as I still have things to square away at home - and given that I am writing this in November it would too much of a rush to move before the year is out.
Kinda getting ahead of myself though, I don't know if I even have the land yet. Fingers and toes crossed.
