So things have gotten a little strange this week in town.
And why do I always feel like I am not being told the whole story - Halloween axe wielding miner...
Anyway let's start at the start eh?
This week has been very relaxed - waking up late, breakfasting in town, lots of reading in the coffee shop, a couple of evening drinks with the old timers - just enjoying my break and soaking up that small town Christmas atmosphere.
But.
I have noticed that the town has been very busy this week - every time I venture into town the streets are being cleaned, store owners are fussing over their storefronts -obviously this would not be out of the ordinary except it is literally every time I have popped into town. The mayor is looking very stressed and Betty has been pounding the sidewalks with a clipboard and scribbling onto it furiously.
Then there is the extra townsfolk that I KNOW do not live in SIlverrun - at first I thought it was a large group of children but it turns out that it appears Silverrun has suddenly had an influx of short people.
Like I said - very strange.
The most I can get by way of an explanation is the arrival of a very important visitor who comes to Silverrun this time every year. Apparently he is a major exporter of gifts all round the world and visits this time every year to ensure his operation is running smoothly.
That is where the story falls down. I mean firstly I know there is no distribution hub in Silverrun so where does he store all his stock?. Secondly, even if I have somehow managed to avoid driving by a major distribution centre where are all the vehicles? Come on if there is a major worldwide distribution operation in Silverrun there would be lorries and vans coming and going at all hours - definitely not the case.
And it gets even stranger/weirder.
So I was in the diner having a late lunch and a customer comes in. The staff drop everything and rush out to greet him and fuss around him - even the customers stopped what they were doing to wave and shout out hello to him.
Turns out he is the mysterious Silverrun exporter.

Anyway he came over and introduced himself - no doubt he caught me staring -and of course his name in Nick. Now I am not prone to childhood fantasies but Nick? Really?
White beard , rosy cheeks, plump build, deep voice.

Ok so I don't believe that Santa is running a base out of Silverrun but then...too much about his export business doesn't add up. If it wasn't so outlandish I would think the whole town was pranking me.
Next thing you know Betty has burst through the does - quite literally - and whisked "Nick" away. I honestly do not know what to make of it.
Everytime I think I have seen all of Silverrruns suprises a new one pops up. I would tell Charisma but she might think I have gone crazy.
I think I need a stiff drink.
