So yeah I bought the land, along with a shed and a grain Silo. Once I get the ground laid with gravel I will have $42k left. No panic though - I have enough to cover any emergencies and I can properly store my equipment so win win.
Expanding the farm
I have a crew ready to lay the gravel and then the shed and the silo can be moved in - assuming no hold-ups I should be up and running in a couple of weeks. Of course this also means I definitely cannot fail now with the amount of money I have now sunk into this.
I wont be using the entire field right away but the good news is that there is plenty of space to expand in the future and the two fields that border it are absolutely in my future expansion plans. Edit I also bought a second shed - the first just wasn't big enough to store everything - so that now leaves me with a little over $31k. I'm not panicking though (well not completely), I have more than enough to live on at this point and my farm will start making money as soon as my first crop reaches harvest.
Away from farm matters I explored a little more of the Springs and found a rather pleasant little restaurant not that far from home called DUCK-EE'S.
DUCK-EE'S grill
I can say that they serve a mean steak and the owner, Mike, is also not a fan of our Mayor - not that I am going to war with the guy or anything but it is still nice to know that I have a few potential allies if I need them.
As I said (wrote) earlier I cannot leave now with all the money I have spent on this - but honestly I wouldn't want to anyway, I am seriously falling in love with the town.
Anyway things are happening and the farm is expanding - all in all I am feeling extremely positive right now.
